About the role
You will coach golfers of every level, juniors through retirees, one on one and in small group classes on the training floor at PIGC. Every program starts from a movement and power screen, so you are building off a real read on the athlete rather than a guess, and you adjust it as they progress.
Group classes currently run Monday and Wednesday at 5:00 PM, Tuesday and Thursday at 5:45 AM, and Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 PM to 6:45 PM. Your one on one hours are yours to build around them. Leads come to you from the PIGC membership and from The Golf Gym, so you are not starting a book from scratch.
What you will do
On the floor
- Coach members one on one and in small groups inside PIGC
- Build every program off a movement and power screen
- Adjust individual plans as clients progress and retest
Behind it
- Contribute programming and content to The Golf Gym
- Work with golfers from the PIGC membership
- Take on new Portland-area golfers as PIGC sends leads your way
What you bring
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field
Nice to have
- TPI Level 1 or higher
- An accredited strength certification (CSCS, NASM, or USAW)
- Competitive golf experience and a current USGA GHIN index
- Working knowledge of golf swing biomechanics
- Experience across the range, from beginners to professionals, juniors to retirees
